Subjectively, you feel a crazily intense need to move your legs, it tends to hit worst when you are trying to sleep. YOu know that feeling when the doctor tests your knee reflex? It is that feeling, but in order to relieve it you need to voluntarily move your legs. Hence the name restless legs. It makes sleeing impossible, you feel like you need to somehow hurt your leg muscles to stop this bizarre nerve signal.
Zoloft was worst for me, though Lexapro also caused RLS at times--even in my arms.
