You might consider switching to a different antipsychotic medication. Whichever one you are taking now, you are obviously not real happy with it. If it were doing a good job and/or not giving you bothersome side effects, you would probably be more agreeable with it.

I think it is normal for all of us at some point in time to go through battles and difficulties in accepting that we need medications to function. Accepting it is an important step to getting and staying well.

If you are taking risperdal, maybe switch to zyprexa...or vica versa. If you are on one of the older antipsychotics, think about switching to one of the newer ones. Zyprexa is my favorite and my doctor's favorite as well.
