Hi:
I have no idea at what dosage you got the Zyprexa. However, the higher dosage you're at, the more prone you get 'bad' side-effects, one of which you've gotten. Here, in the US. most of pdocs. rx'ed the Zyprexa AFTER a trial of mood-stabilzer, ... even M.S. in conjuction with an A.D. Then, it's a sort an suprise in your country, Austria has an aggressive tx on Bipolar. However, in the case of 'severe' form of Bp, like Bp with psychosis, then this form of 'quick' fix method, by using Zyprexa or other 'potent' A.P. for a 'temporary' stabilization. Because, any form of 'psychosis' and 'delusional' are both regarded some 'danger' to the Society in general.
In regard to 'Depakote' for alternative tx, ... I'd also think, ... but Depakote alone might NOT be alleviate the symptoms you have, particularly you have moderate to severe form of Bipolar.
In my suggestion, Depakote and Lithium, both at moderate dosage, somewhere around 750 mg. for the former and 600 - 900 mg. for the later could ease your Bp. However, this combo. seems NOT for every Bper's, because of NO-potency for mid.to severe Bp. Then, you need to talk with your pdoc. before going to change from the Zyprexa to Depakote and Lithium combo. Besides, you may need an A.D., if the depressive side of your Bp hampers your daily activies, i.e., going to work, daily routines and the like.
