In reply to Klonopin - does somebody not have sexual problems?, posted by sdb on April 18, 2005, at 10:51:36
hi! Psychiatric drugs do crazy things with sex-drive and performance ability. Personally, Klonopin at first made me decidedly **more** sexual/sexually active. I guess its the "disinhibition" thing. Who knows. Anyway, first eliminate the possibility that Klonopin is causing or worsening a depressive episode...it can do this, apparently more so than some other benzos. Step 2: see what doses seem to have the worst effects. Common sense would say higher doses=worse effects, but this isn't always the case, so check it out. Step 3: Since you've only been on Klonopin for a little while, it may just be the sedative side-effect that is killing your libido...sometimes smaller doses spaced throughout the day helps, sometimes it doesn't. If the problem continues, you may want to try another benzo...xanax/xanax xr is a possibility, though I'd personally try Tranxene. Good luck!
