Mood stabilizers? That's what I always said.
I said if that is an anti-psychotic, it's an anti-psychotic, right ?, and I am not psychotic, so I should not take it.
I said if that is an anti-seizure, it's an anti-seizure, right ?, and I am not epileptic, so I should not take it.
Well, I was wrong!
Ya' see ... the two mood stabilizers I take are actually an anti-psychotic and an anti-seizure; Seroquel and Trileptal.
When will the drug companies list them as 'mood stabilizers'? I don't know. I know their 'usage indicators' scared me, and it took a knock-down drag-out to get me to finally take them.
And what they have done to me is really simple - not falling apart at the drop of a hat, able to recognize a joke and laugh - they sort of enable your mood to be 'mood appropriate'!
best wishes, cf
