they were more euphoric than opiates. they were superb in small controlled doses like to get through the day at work. they worked really well for social phobia as long as you didn't take too many; they motivated, they made you feel ok in your own skin. Of course if you took too many your face would wind up in your dinner or worse. Nothing like alcohol though. I mean they must have been good if they were forced to stop making them all those years ago. Obviously, they were my drug of choice and I used them as an anti-depressant. Back then the only alternatives were trycyclics or benzos neither were viable choices for me.
