Generally the side effects do go away (the worst of mine lasted about two weeks, but it took about six weeks to really get used to the med) but everyone's experience varies.

Hi, I really had a hard time when I switched from zoloft 300 mg to effexor 75 mg. Besides the sweating and hot flashes, my anxiety seemed to get worse. I did not want to leave the house. I felt like I was all alone and did not want to be seen by anyone. I found myself talking to myself all the time. The thing that really bothers me are the nightmares! Every night it is something different. I have been on effexor now for 6 weeks and I am starting feel some relief but I want to know why does this med cause a person to dream like this.
