To me this seems like a lot of stimulant medication, but everyone is different, I've heard of more. Is the Adderall regular or XR? Is the Methylphenidate reg. or extended release? When I was at 60 mg a day of Adderall XR, I got REALLY depressed when it wore off, it was just too much for me. Now I'm at 30 XR, and 10 regular, and it's working just fine. And, are the stims adding to anxiety that was already there, or causing it? Just curious.

I started out on wellbutrin about 6 years ago.
after 30 days aprox,I was amazed at the improvement in my confidence and drive.Thee underlying anxiety was still there.My outbursts of anger,short lived,with plenty of guilt.buspar added.up to 45 mgs.I then was referred to PDOC.
orig diag ,bi polar,don't know what kind?also anxiety disorder.
lithium given,buspar dropped ,added,ativan.50mg up to 4 times day.lithium @ 900 day.well at 150sr 3 day.
extremly tired,at times,trouble staying awake driving any distance 40 miles eg. I told pdoc hegave provigil,200 aday. about 2 months pass,not much help,I was given concerta up to 36mg 2 day.
no go, and doc wouldn,t up about 2 months,I asked for dex, Doc asked why,I told him I wanted to try because I read it can help keep awake. He gave me addrall 20 2 day,"these were med changes"
1 month I saw doc ,adderall :)! at this point
adderall IR 20 2 day.well 150sr 3 day lith 600 day
ativan .50mg ^4 day,
I read lith>adder interactions till doc don't want lith. we drop to 300mgs a day barelly notice on blood wk/up. finally i opt no lith/till doc and we settle on ,drop ativan,add xanax.5mg ^3 day.all while still sleepy,w/some improv.
I told doc need to last throughout day.tryed xr 20
IR 30 day,dropped down to 300mg day on well.
xr never really help.
back at doc,up adder to 30mg 2 day,drop well and try effex up to 350 xr day w/adder and xanax.5mg ^4 day.
back at doc,"FYI" all these combos I gave 2 3 months before switch,this time wean off effex start into prozac 40 mgs day. still falling asleep
doc ,no on adder increase,still 30 2 day IR.
back at doc,no again on adder increase,however,focalin 10 mgs 2 day added,in am.
:) to much!!,I myself split dosing of foc.this helped.
Well ,I told doc,he's ok,I say why not drop foc add 20 more mgs adder,he say no. So I went with this combo =30 mgIR adder 2 day/10mg foc 2 day split 10am/2pm,xanax as needed .5mg^4 day.
currentlly its as stated previuosly in first post just I dropped pro down to 40 mgs from 60 mgs.
I apologize for long post,I don't think I could function w/out meds.: I have improved through all this, however,I just was searching for your thoughts,sort of ,drawing off all your combined experience to help me time these meds and if I should be on 60 mg pro or 40mgs prozac.
Well ,enough said already,maybe Im just going to have to find out through continued trying,THANKS again.mike:)!
PS:) to answer you questions doc said it could be
add based on past history,I know I can take 30mg adderall and go right back to bed and sleep great.
doc says when I get anxious I cannot focus,I then get impulsive,it's somthing I haven't experienced near as much since being on stims.Yes stims can exaserbate anxiety's,depending on when salts kick in,I do believe.I am pleased that xanax is there to help! only when absolutely needed.
methphenidate is generic so is adderall now after co pays tripled. <Ha,everything is generic:)
as far as narcolepsy,I sure wouldn,t doubt it,however can't afford all these tests,thats why I try timing adderall 20mg,s every couple hours so I can cut out some anxiety keep to ,see my wife has had cancer off and on for 15 + years thats now Luekimia,: hey listen,thank you to all of you for yourendeavors and contributions.:)mike
