Boy how times have changed. When i was pregnant with my third child many moons ago, I was on valium, placidyl, and a lot of alchohol. As a matter of fact the pdoc prescribed the kind of wine I should drink nightly. My OBGYN knew about it all and didn't object. Then when I went into false labor the OBGYN gave me two seconals! I didn't even sleep. In the morning I was sent home. But when she was born she cried 24hours a day and projectile vomited every feeding for over a year. I had to refeed her each time. I think she was withdrawing from meds. I'm dead serious she really did cry all day and night. After about two weeks we would take her back to the hospital. Go home, sleep, and when we returned she was sleeping also. I thought I had been a bad mother. What I didn't know was that they were drugging her too! Thankfully she's okay today with no real problems. Just a lot of energy. Fondly, Phillipa
