Seroquel seems to have an antidepressant effect for me, but only combined with lithium. Neither one of them alone had any AD effect at all, but together they do.I don't see what the big deal is for your doctor. I could understand it if was a highly risky drug or something, but what the hell does he care if you swap one antipsychotic for another (you're on Zyprexa right?)? I know he said he wanted you to try your current drugs longer, which makes some sense. But it seems like in a couple more weeks he should let you switch. It sucks that doctors have that kind of power and we can't just do what we want! I want to try Dexedrine but I don't know if my doctor is going to let me because I had sort of a bad reaction to Adderall.
I think Seroquel is way better than Zyprexa.
