Weird Lamictal side effect -shooting pains

Posted by 4WD on July 7, 2005, at 21:04:22

I started Lamictal 25mg ten days ago. A couple of days ago I started having these weird little sharp stabbing pains in various places - like "growing pains." I didn't think anything about it but then tonight they got really intense in my lower jaw. Zing! Zing! Zing Zing Zing! Left then right then left then both at once. Now it's stopped but it's kind of settled in my bottom front teeth. It's weird. I looked Lamictal up on CrazyMeds and saw that it can be a side effect. So far the pains have never lasted more than a day or so in one place.

I can't figure out how something that can be used to treat neuralgia type pain could cause pain. Oh well, it's not severe enough to stop taking it. Just thought I'd share this since so many people seem to be trying Lamictal.
