Ok, this is going to be a long and rather whiny post, but please bear with me and listen to what I have to say because I need help. I've been on Paxil sine December of '04 (with the exception of a failed Prozac trial)... I started at 30 MGs but that didn't help so in April we upped my dose to 40 MGS. My anxiety and depression are minimal but I've gained 20 lbs in the past 2 months! I'm on the South beach diet but am still having difficulties. I also feel like a slug, sleep, eat a ton, sleep more, you get the idea... I really need to deal with this and am unsure of what to do... I've tried other SSRIs but none of them work like Paxil has (perhaps a dose issue?). My diagnosis is severe anxiety, depression OCD, and latent BP/mood instability. I think I need to swap meds or do something with my Paxil dose...
Here's what I've tried...
Celexa- no therapeutic effect
Lexapro 15mGS- no therapeutic effect
Prozac 40 MGS- The worst one, did nothing at all
Paxil 40 mgs- Good effect, but WEIGHT GAIN and fatigue
Wellbutrin- Let's not even go there
Effexor 37.5 MGS- Bad news, little effect and terrible withdrawals!
Adderall- took this for a few months, bad news, I have IBS so it makes it really bad.
What I use my SSRI for is anxiety control and OCD. When these are in check, my moods are stable and I am productive and functioning. Please help! any advice?
