My pdoc is pretty wonderful in understanding that some benzos work better in different situations. So I have in my cabinet, or access at anytime, to any of them. Here are my ratings:

Lorazepam: 8 nice, mellow but doesn't fog the mind:

Valium: 8 good for floppy muscle feeling, sleeping, muscle spasms. I like Valium!

Xanax: 8 If only I could afford the XR version (3 times as expensive). Quick to act, nice and mellow, but makes me tired and wears off quickly.

Temazepam: Good for sleep but mildly depressing afterwards

Klonopin: This one can go many ways. Sometimes I feel nothing, sometimes it's just what I need, sometimes it depresses me.

One they don't make anymore, but was my favorite was Librium. Good old Librium.

Of course, if I had my druthers I'd chuck the lot and just take opiates. I don't get addicted to any of them so what the heck, opiates make me feel better quicker than anything.
