In reply to Rohhpnol-Unfair ban?-Date rape?, posted by Paulbwell on August 16, 2005, at 19:23:28
Hi Paul,
Flunitrazepam was never banned in the UK - but it was discontinued (in the UK) not long ago because it was so rarely prescribed.
Pharmacologically, it's very similar to other benzos.
Supposedly, flunitrazepam itself is colorless, and tasteless - easy to pop in a drink. I don't know the tastes of other benzos though - nor do I know what Rohypnol tablets taste like, with all the inactive ingredients etc. Roche puts a lot of dye in its Rohypnol tablets. Generics are available with no dye though.
There's certainly been a lot of hysteria surrounding Rohypnol.
Kind regards
~ed
