In many ways I'm the wrong person to ask about this, but I have 2 suggestions.

1. Have you had your thyroid levels checked? My guess is that you and/or your doc thought of thise already, but just in case...

2. Go to a nutritionist. Often this is covered by insurance. They can help you with planning meals so that you get enough protien, vitamins, etc. so that you have energy and feel satisfied--something that doesn't always happen when you are just dieting. They also can help you figure out what you need in terms of calories based on your level of activity. I haven't done this, but know a few people that have found it helpful.

Best,
EE
