I know that some SSRIs increase it (Citalopram) and that others decrease it (fluoxetine)

It is referred to as the cuddle hormone.

I believe it could have enormous applications in social phobia.

There was one study done, however that showed pedohpilles had abnormally high levels of oxytocin. And that oxytocin injections into animals caused them to start attending to and nurturing the closes young they could find (even if it was another animal's young !!!)
