effexor + remeron combo really the best? (again)

Posted by iforgotmypassword on September 16, 2005, at 9:40:15

if you tried it, how did it work for you? does the effexor negate any very heavy sedative properties of remeron? (its quoted as being a very stimulant like combo?) i read of so many people saying that they were able to enjoy life again... that life was worth living. ive never felt like this and i feel like ive tried so many antidepressants. i have personal issues with taking the combo, but i guess i would be willing to try anything... i tried both meds alone. remeron was just like a brick to the head making me weak lethargic and hypersomnelent (and much more prone to banging my head more when frustrated for some reason) and effexor i dont really remember helping, but some doctor i saw for 15 minutes seemed to think it was doing something... i am still very lethargic unmotivated and anhedonic... active dysphoria is daily but comes and goes. i am mostly just dead. i also have a lot of trouble thinking. which makes me worry about some of the cognitive properties of remeron (according to some websites it has 'moderate' muscarinic anticholinergic effects, and ive heard that alpha-2 antagonism can mimic ADHD, as well ive also heard that H1 antagonism may as well (or at least that H1 agonism can help it?)... i feel like ive tried everything... this just seems so hopeless.
