I would think that having been on it before should encourage your new pdoc to prescribe it. Perhaps you could ask your new pdoc to talk to your old one. To help convice new pdoc that you really improved on it and could handle the responsibility of taking such a dangerous drug.
Another option might be a tricyclic antidepressant, like desipramine. Have you tried one of them before. Often they can be good for anxiety and depression.
