Hello junglebookmom!

Welcome to club babble. It's sort of like Club Med, without a vacation or luxuries! ROFL!!!

Effexor has definitely improved my ability to care for my children and cope with life in general. My husband certainly loves what it's done for me. Depression is horrible! Drugs are good! ;~}

I take 225mgs. a day, don't remember where I started because one of the side effects is that your short term memory evaporates... I did have to take some Ambien for a while with it to get any sleep at all, but I don't think I would feel comfortable doing that with a new-born. Since you're probably not sleeping anyway (one of the many joys of parenthood!), it shouldn't be a problem for you.

You'll be able to tell if you need more. You will also be able to tell if you're on too much. Your body will tell you if you listen to it.

From what I experienced, withdrawl for it is pretty nasty. From reading the boards, most others agree. I can tell if I've forgotten to take it within about 12 hours. I hope that doesn't scare you off it. I have tried other anti-depressants and this one has been the best for me so far.

Best of luck toyou and your baby!
