It depends. Many generics do not work as well as brand. They need to have the same amount of active ingredients but this doesn't translate to same efficacy. In some cases different generics are different. A good example is dexedrine extended release, where the Barr generic is known to be less effective than the brand or the Malckenrodt(sp?) generic
