I take Nardil and find it actually makes me sleep too much and I eat lots, but after about 5 weeks its started to help alot (I've been on it before). So it may well help your appetite, and I think it'll definitely help with your sleep and crying spells. I used to often feel tearfull, but on Nardil I've never cried once. This could be a good or bad thing, depending on how you look at it, but it sounds like you've done enough grieving and need a break!
You say "melancholic". Does that mean you often sit motionless and rarely feel like doing anything? Although Nardil isn't a stimulant, it can certainly help to motivate, mentally rather than physically.
One common problem with Nardil is side effects which can be pretty annoying to say the least. They seem to come on around the same time as the benefits (3 weeks or so) and some of them can last several months, BUT THEY DO GO - eventually.
I'm no expert, these are just my thoughts, but I would say Nardil could indeed be very effective for you. Just bear in mind that it can be a 'temperamental' medication which requires much patience and tolerance but the rewards can be great.
Good luck. Kev.
