Hey Matt. Can you explain your theory a little but more. You anxiety increased as a result of your relationship with your dad. So in turn, you took the destroamphetamine. Are you saying this made you more anxious and made you feel better? Or that it had the opposite effect and calmed you down (some people get sleepy from meds like dexadrine etc.).
Do you feel that being a nervous wreck as you put it, is part of your identity now? That if you didn't feel this way all the time you wouldn't be Matt anymore?
I know there is more to you than that. I wish you could see it for yourself. Easier said than done though. I know this from personal experience. I see myself as a worthless fat blob. No matter what people tell me, that is all I feel and see.
Hopefully someone on the board will have some suggestions for you.
Are you in college now? Is there a counsellor you could see there? Going to college can be really stressful and if you have stressors at home they just all pile on top of one another and it's hard to get away from it all.
Try to do something relaxing today. So something for Matt that doesn't involve meds or anything related to your anxiety. Try to let it go even if only for a few hours.
