Have you ever tried Neurontin? If so, how does pregabalin compare to it? Neurontin was definitely anxiolytic for me and helped relax my muscles (a bonus), but poop-out occurred and higher doses caused too many cognitive effects. Some Babble posters said they also had side effects with pregabalin similar to Neurontin and some experienced poop-out on it. What dose are you on and what other meds is it augmenting, if you don't mind my asking? Thanks for any input.

> Lyrica is the "new" Neurotin. The patten just expired on Neurotin so they came with a new/improved/better version. I was just at my doctors today (who is a leading researcher on anxiety meds)and we discussed both meds. He told me that Lyrica was much better as it delivers the medicine at a much smaller dose therefore fewer side affects. It acts as a mood stabalizer (which helps with those of us who tend to be on the depressed side) as well as on anxiety. He said it was great for GAD and tests show that it works on SAD as well. He said it works on GABA in a way that is different from benzos. I've been on it for a short time and so far it's working better than klonopin. All that being said if you think Neurotin may be good for you, Lyrica, the same medication only cleaner and more potent would seem to be a better choice.
