Ilene,

I am so sorry you are feeling so bad. I understand exactly what you mean. I keep thinking the same thing myself. The hospital is kind of the last resort and if they can't help you there, then where do you turn next?

But I think if you are already suicidal or close to it, you should go. There will at least be some sense of relief at knowing that you don't have to think about it anymore - they are there and will be taking care of you and everything. And who knows? They may be able to put you on something that will actually help. The main thing is to stay alive right now. Let them be the ones to worry about helping you. In the hospital you can say, "no, I'm not feeling better" and then they have to figure out what to do next. You don't have to.

Please take care of yourself first of all.
