Road to Recovery

Posted by GoldenSlumbers on October 17, 2005, at 10:24:35

Hi Everyone,

I've been fighting anxiety for 6 months now. Up and down - learning why I have anxiety and what it is.

Tried meds, got scared, now trying again with more understanding and patience.

I have a few questions and I could really use some advice.

My main worry is about getting better, I did worry about health but those fears have been calmed so now I just wonder when will I get better ? I can't stop the thought and I only
just realized I never will until I start to feel better. How should I deal with this thought ? Try to make it boring ? Replace it ?

I tried thought stopping but it created so much tension things got worse.

My physical symptoms are reduced appetite, light headedness and during a scarry moment tingling with a chest pain. I am getting better at responding to these symptoms instead of overreacting but I would appreciate hearing about any successes in reducing the light headedness.
They are short 1-2 seconds and I am guessing my anxiety has put me on high alert so I catch them where I wouldn't if I was relaxed.

I am trying remeron (only day two) and looking for positive signs that I am going to get this under control again.

Thanks to all who respond
