For me, I don't think my blood levels are very high because if I miss even one day's dose, my anxiety is definitely still there. What happens with me is I take my 1/3 -1/2 in the morning. After about 2 hours, I feel less scared and agitated. My pdoc said it would work a lot quicker if I took more but I don't want to take more.
It's also possibly that just the action of taking the Klonopin has a calming effect. I know I've taken it and I kind of immediately feel calmer because I know I won't get terrified that day. A sort of placebo effect.
> For me one dosage of 0.5mg Klonopin only sedate me only a bit, up to 2mg would make a difference. I have taken up to 5mg at once, it sedated me also but it worked definately against anxiety and lead even to disinhibition. My doc said if I took 2mg, I'd feel the effects right away. I'm scared of dependency though so I just kind of take the minimum I think I can get by with, based on how anxious I feel that day when I wake up.
Hope this helps a little
