Vivid dreams are a common side effect of many antidepressants -- I had some Technicolor doozies on Effexor -- but they often settle down after you've adjusted to the meds.
You've only been on Seroquel for how long now? Less than a week, as I recall? Give it time. I know you're anxious about taking it, but the only way to know if you're going to respond adequately to it is to take it -- as prescribed by your doctor -- for a while and see what happens after you've gotten through the adjustment phase.
A year ago, after a nightmare of 'treatment,' I changed doctors and was prescribed a brand new drug. I was so anxious, so freaked out generally, that it was all I could do to continue taking it. I was sure it was not going to work, that it would make everything much worse than it was, etc. Turned out the med does help. That's right, I wrote "DOES," meaning I'm still taking it a year later, and it's still helping. If I had acted on my fears way back then, I wouldn't have found relief. Give these drugs a chance to work, and do what you can to get through the adjustment phase. It's usually only a couple of weeks, and that's do-able almost regardless of how bad things are during the period.
Good luck.
