HiYes olive oil is absolutely fine. Make sure it is fresh and stored well (away from light) to be extra sure. I take an MAOI (Nardil) and have always used plenty of olive oil. I've never heard of any such warnings of the oil, but as actual olives themselves are preserved, and the fact that they are indeed on many restriction lists, then she is right to avoid those.
I will look into this though, as I never realised olives were bad. I've eaten them without trouble though I dont particularly like them. I dont know whether its just the preserving that causes the tyramine content or whether they contain it before.Regards,
