Will Trileptal Help With Sleep?

Since my old oldpdoc started me on trileptal l50x2 going to 300x2, even with l5mg of valium I'm only sleeping 5-6hours a night.Is it stimulating or will it keep me awake. I wake up and no matter even if I take a higher dose of valium I can't go back to sleep. Mind racing all the time. Thanks, Fondly, Phillipa
