No. You are very smart to be sure you aren't getting diabetes- it's one of the increasingly recognized serious side effects from taking Zyprexa. It is a wonderful drug, but the diabetes is a big problem. I almost got it, myself, in two years of Zyprexa 5 mg. per day. It's important to get monitored regularly for fasting blood sugars and signs of insulin resistance- just as important as monitoring lithium blood levels, if you are on that. Make sure you get those tests! The other AP's, like Risperdal, tend to do the same thing, but, I think, the risk of diabetes is less with those.
