But what's wrong with that in this situation? You are stubbornly protecting yourself and trying to improve your quality of life. No one here has any problem with that.
Many times, I think, doctors don't understand just how awful it can be to take some of these drugs. Sure, it's the best they got, but that don't make it good.
My advice is two-fold:
First, I strongly urge you to write down a chart listing all the drugs you've taken, the side effects you experienced, and which side effects are total deal-breakers. That might help the doctor understand better what you find acceptable.
Secondly, and I think this is very important, ASK YOUR DOCTOR WHY he's pushing Zyprexa? What is his reasoning? If it's just that you took it before and HE thought it was helping, remind him that it really wasn't offering you acceptable quality of life. And then talk to him about that concept a bit more: quality of life. Ask him to put himself in your place, if that's what it takes.
And ask him why he's hesitant to try Abilify. It maybe be that he has a strong reason for it, and a reason you should respect. But you will only find out if you ask him.
