My theory is that, while the biological part of your depression is under control through the drugs, the psychological part isn't. Think about it: all the time you were depressed -- probably a longish time, since most people don't get diagnosed and treated right away -- all that time, you were learning thought patterns. Now, I'm pretty much NOT a believer in CBT, but there is something to it: you do learn habits of thought (thus my political views lol), and habits of behavior, and those will stick around after the biology is brought into control.
Have you thought about therapy? Either individual or family or both? I think that's probably going to help most at this point.
And congratulations on finding a med that works.
