In reply to Calling UK people - how long wait for pdoc on NHS?, posted by Meri-Tuuli on March 14, 2006, at 11:41:46

Hiya!

> I was wondering how long people have had to wait for a pdoc referral after their GP referred them??

The very first time I was refered from my GP to the mental health services it took about 2 months to get an appt if I recall. I think its very variable, I just saw an NHS psychiatrist and he wanted to follow up with me as quickly as he could however that meant an appt in June (!) and I had to wait 6 months for this one! Before that I could usually see the psychiatrist with about 3 weeks notice just by asking the CPN. Oh how times have changed.
Sorry they are taking so long, what did the GP say?
Best regards Bunny
