In an above thread, I discussed the addictive properties of Parnate.
In fact, I have been abusing it recently. I'm technically off meds and not seeing a psychiatrist, but every few days I pop a few Parnate for the amphetamine kick it gives me.
The problem with Parnate was, for me, that I have a lot of mood lability and cycling. So a medication with such a short-half life was not a good choice for me, especially because if I took it later than 2:00 p.m. I'd be awake all night. So during the day I felt speed-freak great and then at night I'd crash into a deep depression.
You might have better luck with Emsam - since it's a patch, it will be released slowly into your system over a period of 24 hours, allowing for more stable dosing.
