In reply to Can You Compare Lamictal to Trileptal?, posted by Phillipa on May 25, 2006, at 19:43:28
Hey P,
I think lamictal is much more activating, much more effective for 'depressive' symptoms.. trileptal is touted as a cleaner version of tegretol which is more of a classic mood stabilizer... i would think trileptal is more effective for forms of mania whereas lamictal is more effective for feeeling sad and down... 150mg of trileptal is an infantile dose and u shouldnt fear it thats for sure... just as was written by another on this thread, the therapeutic range seems to be 900 and up...
I'm currently on trileptal in combo with other drugs and it seems to be treating me well... no major side effects.. one bonus of trileptal is that no blood drawings are necessary!bps
> I have taken trileptal l50mg at night my old pdoc said to help with sleep. How and what dose would you compare it with? And do that act the same? Am or Pm on the lamictal. Thanks's as I had no sided effects on trileptal. It was just too expensive so I stopped. Hummmm so did my lack of depression. A light bulb just went on. Love Phillipa
