That's a curious drug to prescribe, it is an old line asthma medication -- like epinephrine but less shocking, it opens airways and the like.If you're still taking it, yes, restlessness is common with the drug for the obvious reason that it is a type of stimulant, until you adjust to it.
Maybe the idea of opening airways was perhaps to clear your sinus passages and allow taste to occur as a result as our nose and throat of course are linked together -- I couldn't tell you a good answer for that question, I imagine it is a complicated one as to why they chose to use it.
I'm not sure on the craving part, but chocolate and coffee are contraindicated with theophylline in any significant quantities. There could be some psychological reason, but if you're not taking the medicine any more I doubt it too much. Chocolate "craving" is an individual thing.
