the original paxil is dosed at night, as it is very sedating and sleep inducing. since you say 40 mg., i must assume you are talking about the original paxil - NOT the much newer cr version. i know this is true from my own experience many years ago, when p-doc wrote the time of day wrong. I fell asleep in class, by taking it in the am.

the newer paxil cr is usually recommended, conversely, to be taken in the am. some fewer find it better taken at night. as always, ymmv.
