> So, I'm stabilized on the 6mg patch now. No hyperkinesia, no dyskinesia or tounge problems. More energy, etc. No agitation. However, my anxiety is comparable to not being on it. Specifically, I have an awful torticollis (spasms) in my neck that are only helped with a lot of serotonin. I want to try upping the patch- are two 6mg patches equivalent to one 12 pharmacokinetically? Thanks sls.
I'm not absolutely sure, but I suspect that they are equivalent. The concentration (mg/cm2) of selegiline is the same between the three dosage forms. Doubling the surface area should double the amount of drug being absorbed through the skin.

"Pharmacokinetics of Selegiline Transdermal SystemOver 30 human pharmacokinetics studies have examined dermally applied selegiline in over 650 subjects. STS is extensively absorbed through the skin with plasma levels maintained over a 24-hour period permitting once-daily application. About 25% to 30% of selegiline in STS is delivered within 24 hours. Selegiline delivered by 20 mg/20 cm2, 30 mg/30 cm2, and 40 mg/40 cm2 STS approximates 6 mg, 9 mg, and 12 mg over 24 hours, respectively."
If hyperkinesia remains a problem, you could go with Nardil. It doesn't act like amphetamine. Also, a drug similar to selegiline named rasagiline is not metabolized into amphetamines.
