I have a friend that almost induced herself a nice serotonin syndrome taking effexor with ultram, albeit way more ultram than therapeutically prescribed for anything that I know of. I am really so vague and unsure about this but it has to with both of them being SE and NE reuptake inhibitors. And btw, I find them to be nothing alike as far as how they made me feel.
