> Hello everyone! I've taken a number of drugs over the years to try to solve my social anxiety issues. First I tried Paxil, which caused me to gain about 50 pounds. Zoloft also caused weight gain for me, but not as much as Paxil. I took Effexor for a short amount of time, but don't recall if it affected my weight. None of these drugs has a theuraputic effect on me.

> I'm currently 5'11", between 145-150 pounds, a lean and muscular build, as I've been lifting weights for a year, jogging for almost 2. I worked hard to get where I am and am worried about blowing up again like what Paxil did to me. When I was on EMSAM, I was also in Ireland eating more and unhealthy compared to my healthy diet back home and I actually lost a few pounds.

> My pdoc prescribed me Parnate, but I'm a little afraid it's going to make me gain weight. If it's like EMSAM, I should be okay. From what I've mostly read about Parnate is it doesn't cause weight gain in most people, some loss in a few, gain in a few, unlike Nardil, which seems to make everyone gain weight.

> Does anyone here have any experience with Parnate and their weight? Thanks!I lost 15 lbs. when i was on Parnate for 5 mos. Like you i gained 30 lbs. on Paxil. Parnate (for me) reduced my appetite...didn't have the munchies all the time like i did on Paxil. Everybody's different, but i do believe most people do not gain weight on Parnate. I wish you good luck!
