you should have a copy of an informed consent document that will tell you about this kind of information. If you tell the study director that you fear that you will destabilize if you go off the drug when the study is discontinued, they will probably try to work with you on that. The worst thing that can happen in these late phases of drug trials is for an adverse event to be reported. If they won't listen to you, tell them that you fear that going off the drug might cause an adverse reaction, I bet they will perk up their ears.
