I would also say adjunctive. Now the definition is how much benzodiazepine(s). Moderate dosage to reduce anxiety spikes that are created initially by SSRIs in people who have both anxiety and depression is a valid and oft used practice until one becomes accustomed to an SSRI and reduces or eliminates the benzodiazepine. High dosage, there may be some mild serotonin interaction but the real issue there isn't with 5HT, it is simply cognitive issues and central nervous system depression.
