Neither Dexedrine nor Ritalin increased depression for me, though, so it wasn't a big deal to switch. Dexedrine was helpful, although not the best for me. Ritalin was the best for me, although it did cause headaches. (It also stimulated my appetite, which freaked me out. That seemed to have gone away, though, when I restarted it recently. And the headaches didn't come back.)
As for why I'm not taking stimulants regularly now, I'm trying to get pregnant, and they're not good for that. Right now, when we're sure I'm not pregnant, I take them to try to help me recover from some of the problems the hormones cause, and stop them before another attempt.
