I'm no expert on TCAs but I've learned there can be quite big difference in terms of effects/side effects between them. I much prefer the side effect profile of TCAs over SSRIs myself and like you I respond much better to them.
I'm quite interested in trying trimipramine, because of its beneficial effects on REM sleep compared to most other antidepressants http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trimipramine.
It also has some D2 antagonist action, giving it some possible antipsychotic effects.
I'm not sure what you mean by rotating them. Do you mean continually switching between TCAs to maintain the effect?
