I wouldn't call Lamictal a sedating drug, but some people do report feeling tired when they first start it. I think reactions to Lamictal are variable. I was not sedated at all with it. Many people who combine it with Wellbutrin find it energizing. I always took Lamictal in the morning to start with and later split my doses morning and evening for a more even effect.

I will be very interested to know how you respond to the addition of Lamictal. My doctor uses it frequently to augment Wellbutrin.

Good luck.
