all antipsychotics numb emotions...that's an integral part of their action. I was only on zyprexa briefly (akathisia hit), but I found it even more numbing, and at lower dosages, than, say, Abilify. I think its b/c the drug is so sedating and b/c it has such a wide range of receptors it affects--the overall effect seems to be soothin and numbing. This is probably a good thing short term--for some people, this might be even better than valium--but long term...I think the numbing could only be detrimental; one needs emotions to be able to deal with the outside and inner-world.
