In reply to Remeron 7.5 mg or 15 mg?, posted by joslynn on January 22, 2007, at 12:55:29
I don't know about the serotonin blocking at different doses. The adrenergic part definitely works at that dose. I can tell by how it doubles the loudness of my tinnitus. Anything adrenergic does that to me. My mood also gets a lot worse, after a short term boost. Anything adrenergic does that to me. 7.5mg remeron does those things to me.
Some people claim remeron is less sedating to them at higher doses. Yet other people say sedation was still very strong at higher doses.
If you do reduce the dose, you may not notice any difference right away. But give it at least a week or two and then you'll know for sure what the diffference is. It's halflife is about 1 1/2 to 2 days, and sometimes dose changes can't really be felt until 2 - 4 days after. With me anyway.
If 7.5mg is enough to block the serotonin for sexual purposes, you will know.
