I phoned my psychiatrist that I was seeing prior to my current one now. She knows me alot better and we keep in touch periodically. When I told her about the abrupt discontinuation of the EffexorXR, she almost hit the roof. She said that no psychiatrist would ever completely stop EffexorXR, when a patient has been taking it for years and at a high dose. She said she was going to call her today and discuss it with her. I hope that wasn't unethical.
