...Hi,
I've mixed bupropion(300mg) with Nardil(90mg) with no problem. They are contraindicated so you would need a pretty open minded PDOC to prescribe the two together. The bupropion did help with the weight and sexual side effects of Nardil.I am in the process of a switch from Nardil to Parnate, mostly because of the massive weight gain on Nardil. At one point I had put on over 100 pounds with the drug. My problem is that every time I have been off Nardil in the past 10 years, my atypical major depression with social anxiety has returned. I did a trial of Parnate six years ago and it did not do the job. However, with my current MD, I think I can demonstrate with controlled studies how high dosages of Parnate can work for treatment resistant depression.
The only other way I've found to control the weight gain from Nardil is with 2+ hours daily of strenuous exercise. I lost over 70 pounds on this program, but it is hard to maintain.
Take care,
Jedi
