It really shouldn't be prescribed offlabel for those conditions unless absolutely warranted because it is a neuroleptic and people with affective disorders experience much more EPS. Risperdal is Haldol with some molecules transformed. At its highest dose, it really is not a lot different from Haldol in terms of side effects.
It is probably prescribed as a neuroleptic for some conditions because it is the 2nd atypical produced (Clozaril being the first and frought with incredible issues) and is cheapest.-- tidings
